Graco Quattro Tour Travel System with SnugRide in Marlowe

My wife and I recently had our first child. As her due date approached (Nov 7, 2008) we started shopping around for all the necessary products, including strollers and car seats. Once we settled on getting a travel system (based on various recommendations from friends), we shopped around at local stores for the right one.

We had always heard good things about the Graco name, so we compared the various Graco systems with the more expensive Eddie Bauer versions. This Graco system was clearly lighter than others, but it did not appear to sacrifice quality and durability. So, we settled on Graco.

Well, on October 9 (4 weeks early) my daughter was ready to be born, so I immediately ordered this travel system from Amazon (on my iPhone). We have been using it faithfully since we brought our daughter home a few days later.

The car seat is very well constructed and I feel comfortable that my baby is safe. The stroller is very maneuverable and the rubber wheels roll smoothly on asphalt and concrete. The system is kind of heavy and bulky with the baby in it, but I think that drawback is clearly offset by the convenience of an all-in-one system that will grow with your child and being able to keep your baby in the infant seat when you take him/her out of car.

In general, we are extremely satisfied with this product, and will continue using it when we have our next child.Buy Graco Quattro Tour Travel System with SnugRide in Marlowe!

Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System with SafeSeat in Imperial

I almost did not buy a travel system because I was looking at a more versatile carseat, but my friends who have children talked me into buying this, and I am so glad they did. My son loves his carseat, he falls asleep in it all the time and I have never had a problem with his head getting cranked to the side like I have seen with some other carseats when the baby falls asleep. He has fit into it just fine, from coming home from the hospital to now, and he is almost 4 months and 16 lbs. It is a little heavy at first, but you get used to it once you get your buff "mom arms." The stroller is solid and had lots of little comparments to put your stuff in, like a sunglasses holder and we use the cup holders everytime. Underneath there is plenty of room for the diaper bag as well as shopping bags. The seat snaps right into the stroller and I honestly don't know what people who say it is not secure are talking about. This has been one of the best purchases I have made, and we couldn't be more happy with it!Buy Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System with SafeSeat in Imperial!

Britax Ashley Floral Marathon CV Car Seat

I would highly recommend this seat for newborns/infants and toddlers who are slimmer/lankier than most other kids.

My first child had the Eddie Bauer seats, and I was always bothered that when he slept, after facing the seat forward, his head would always droop forward. So, with my second I was determined to get this nicer seat. I was so glad I did up until now (28 months). My daughter starts screaming and struggling to get out after about 10 minutes. She's a normal sized baby - not overweight or underweight - but now that she's getting bigger, the straps seem to bother her to no end. They seem to be too tight at her neck. Also, the seat doesn't sit fully upright. It has 2 settings and neither one sits her in a normal upright position, which I think also bothers her. Perhaps if she was a skinnier kid like her older brother.

I LOVED the seat for her as an infant - it was super easy to install and didn't budge - even with the bulkiness of it. But, now, unfortunately, I'm going to have to sell it and put her her older brother's Cosco/Eddie Bauer seats!

Also, the seat cover and straps have been washed numerous times and still look brand new. But, it is quite tricky to clean the "undercarriage" nooks and crannies.

We were so excited when we realized we could still put our 30 lb. toddler in the doubles seat underneath. I know the company says not to, but we did some testing and it did not tip or feel unsafe at all!

Graco Mosaic Stroller in Cynthia Rowley

****The Graco Mosaic Stroller in Ionic, is really a great stroller! I am 6' tall and my husband 6'4" and the handles are the perfect height for us. My mom who is 5'4" loved the position of the handles too, very comfortable! I also just flew for the first time with my 8 week old daughter and we brought the stroller, it was perfect. Light weight, folds up neatly, and you can collapse it with one hand (other hand holding the baby!) It was easy to put together when it arrived (5 minutes and done). The color is great too, I have the matching car seat and it fits in nicely onto the stroller (its very secure). I recommend this stroller to anyone who is searching for one. I researched a lot of strollers and carseats and found this set to be wonderful!!! ****Buy Graco Mosaic Stroller in Cynthia Rowley!

Lilly Pad Toddler Car Seat Cover, Chocolate Mousse

Car seat covers that are not made by the manufacturer are never safe to use. They don't meet the strict requirements set by Britax and could interfere with the harness fitting your child properly. Additionally they are likley not made of fire proof material which is another danger.

Using any kind of after market device will void your warranty with Britax.Buy Lilly Pad Toddler Car Seat Cover, Chocolate Mousse!

Double Carseat Clip - Graco

This car seat clip came with no instructions to install. After spending an hour unbuttoning and taking off the mountain buggy fabic seat to put in the car seat holder, I found that once I attached it and put the graco seat in, there was no way to make the carseat stay put. The carseat wouldn't clip properly and it's so unsafe, there is NO WAY I would use it and put my baby in it. The carseat can just fall out. I was extremely disappointed and frustruated with this product. Unsafe and not worth the money. I do, however, love the mountain buggy stroller itself. this clip is a piece of unsafe junk though.Buy Double Carseat Clip - Graco!

Graco Quattro Tour Sport Travel System in Boone

We just received this Graco Quattro Tour Sport stroller/car seat combo yesterday.

1. In the picture it looks like the color is gray with cherry red accents. The color is NOT RED, it's actually a coppery-orange color.
2. When folded up, the stroller does not stand by itself upright, which many strollers these days do.

For me #2 was not a big enough deal to return the item, but I am a little disappointed.Buy Graco Quattro Tour Sport Travel System in Boone!

Bumble Bags Infant Seat Cover-Blue Latte

I love this infant carrier-- we have it for a boy, because the print is gender neutral (I went on the website and saw that Sheryl Crow used this print for her baby boy too, so it's not just me! My friend has this print in a a Bumble Bag diaper bag for her son as well). I love the chocolate brown and light blue combination (though I was equally tempted to buy it in the blue paisley print-- also really sweet), so I thought this one would be nice just because of that. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, and gentle soft fabric for the baby-- that alone would now be my reason for buying it for him now! I love it-- have their brand (Bumble) of toddler carseat covers for my daughter too, and they are also great!Buy Bumble Bags Infant Seat Cover-Blue Latte!

Bumble Bags Toddler Seat Cover-Pink Paisley

The fabric is wonderful...makes my Britax look like a million bucks. But the straps have to be yanked on quite a bit to get them long enough to buckle, almost every time. They slip up between the seat and this cover, and everything has to be shifted a little bit to make it all line up (strap holes, etc.) Still, a nice product.Buy Bumble Bags Toddler Seat Cover-Pink Paisley!

Graco Car Seat Undermat

My husband and I purchased these, we thought they would be perfect for under our Graco car seats. We had the car seat bases professionally installed in our cars, and the professionals told us that we couldn't use the undermats. The car seat base slides around and isn't secure with the mat underneath it. I was told this would be the same situation for a toddler car seat. Buy Graco Car Seat Undermat!

Graco MetroLite Stroller, Mondo

This is the absolute best stroller that I have ever used (and we have used a lot). Compared to our other heavy, bulky Peg Perego Venezia, this stroller is a dream. It is easy to assemble out of the box and ready to use. It is so simple to open and close and the latch keeps it closed so it can even stand up on the floor while closed. It is light and fits easily into the trunk of our small sedan. I couldn't fit an entire load of groceries in the trunk while the stroller is in there....but why would I bring the stroller to the grocery store?! It is narrow, and easy to pick up with one hand. The large, rubber, puncture proof wheels are awesome - we have walked through mud, and puddles and all over the place with no problems. It is like pushing nothing at all - totally effortless. The basket is large, the cups are great. It has 3 reclining positions which is very useful for an on the go nap, or diaper change. The 5 point harness is useful and actually works, unlike the Peg Perego Aria which slips out easily.

Overall, this stroller is a must. We use it every day, for walking outside (several miles a day) and at the mall, and the beach, etc. If you have been dissatisfied with other strollers, this is the one to get.Buy Graco MetroLite Stroller, Mondo!

Graco Infant SafeSeat Step 1 - Nectar

My daughter has used this car seat about 10-20 times in her first six months, as we live in New York and use a car infrequently for longer out-of-town trips. It was fine for the first month or two, but our daughter is pretty big, and soon it became too tight for her. The shoulder straps are very difficult to figure out, and appear not to expand too much, so once your child is 15-20 pounds, it can be very difficult for her to fit comfortably. Aside from the size issue, it's very comfortable and soft, with a nice canopy. It's not too heavy, but feels very safe. And, we have had no trouble fitting it in mid-size cars.Buy Graco Infant SafeSeat Step 1 - Nectar!

Gogo Babyz Infant Cruizer Car Seat Travel System (for Graco)

The handle IS pretty flimsy, but we haven't found it to be a major problem. We don't use this all the time (the carrier fits into a larger stroller), but when there's not a lot of space in the car or for getting quickly to and from someplace where there are no shopping carts and a full-size stroller would be a problem (the airport, for instance), it comes in VERY handy. It probably shouldn't replace a regular stroller, but it's convenient as a supplement and we definitely use ours.

Be prepared to have people ask you about it, though. It stands out and people want to know where you got it, what it is, etc.

Update - 12/22/08

I just got back from visiting family across the country and using the Cruizer as my son's only stroller. It worked really well. I took him shopping, to Disneyland, and through three different airports. The handle wasn't a problem, and the Cruizer was really easy to maneuver in crowds and around tight corners. I was once again asked about it over and over and people would point out the strange little stroller as we went by. The smallness of it seemed to be the appeal. My favorite comment at Disneyland was "Check out the little dude!" As for my son, he had a blast leaning back in his familiar carseat, taking it all in.Buy Gogo Babyz Infant Cruizer Car Seat Travel System (for Graco)!

Graco LiteRider Stroller in Tango in the Tongo

After doing a lot of research to find an affordable, lightweight stroller with the "perks" of a bigger stroller, we bought this stroller and are very happy with our choice. It folds up very nicely and I love that it reclines allowing our 13 month old to nap if he wants. The basket is huge and I love that you can still get to your diaper bag even when the seat is reclined. I definitely recommend this stroller! Graco SafeSeat Infant Car Seat Base - Silver

We purchased the Graco SafeSeat Infant Car Seat Base in order to avoid having to strap in our granddaughter's Graco SafeSeat for every trip. Using the seat alone took several minutes every time and we never felt it was as secure as it should have been. This base is easy to install and use. The instructions were a little obtuse, though not bad, and the design of the base made it easy to get the belt through the correct spots and secure. The drawings were helpful. There is a great adjusting "foot" (the red part) that compensates for various seat angles.Buy Graco SafeSeat Infant Car Seat Base - Silver!

I absolutely love this car seat. I had this one already in the Graco G fabric from Babies R Us, and wanted a second one for my husbands truck. I was going to just buy a cheaper seat for the second vehicle, but I am just to spoiled by my first one that I just had to have another. I had a gift card for Amazon so I decided to go ahead and use it to buy the other one. The fabric on this car seat is very nice and we just love the reclining option. It is so easy that you can do it from the drivers seat when they decide to doze in the middle of a trip(be sure to be at a red light or at a stop before reclining, lol). For the money it is the best seat out there. I have looked at many seats and had my daughter in them all in the store trying them out until I found this one. She never really complains about being in the car seat and she falls asleep almost instantly when we go for a ride in it.

The seat alone is a definite 5 out of 5. The reason I give the seat a 4 out of 5 is for the shipping alone. The only thing bad that I can say about ording it online is that no matter whom you order it from, the original box is what it gets shipped in. It is not really the kind of box that can handle a beating in the mail. When I got the seat, it was scratched abit on the base, but nothing that would be damaging to the safty of the seat itself. The box on the other hand looked like it had just fought a war, but the seat itself was fine. If anything, you just return it and have them ship you a new one. Although a hassle, I think the seat is very much worth it. Buy Graco Toddler SafeSeat Step 2 - Maxwell!

Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat in Wheaton

Graco has made some improvements since we bought a ComfortSport for my husband's car 2 years ago. I ordered this one for my mom - she liked it because it matched the interior of her new car. I think so far she likes it. The adjustments were a little tricky, but installation very simple. I personally like my Britax better, but for a grandparent or second vehicle, this one is great. We love this seat. We have two (one in each car) and have been using them for 4 weeks now. Since children in Michigan (and many other states) have to be in boosters so long, we decided to spend the extra money on a more expensive seat (this one) and we have nothing but great things to say about it. It is easy to use and my daughter feels secure in it. Graco Quattro Tour Travel System with SnugRide, Marlowe

We purchased this stroller system (in a different color) in 2006. I still love it. The frame is solid, the wheels big and turn easy, folds great and quick set up, not that heavy, and the snugride car seat is a breeze to click in and out. I love the huge basket bellow, and it drops down to make it easy to get things out when stroller seat is reclined or you have the car seat clicked in. It is a bit stiff at first and hard to drop...but the more you use it the easier it gets. And if you live some place that gets freezing temps (we live in Alaska) the plastic viewing window in the canopy can freeze and crack if left outside in the car too long (like overnight). Otherwise this stroller has taken a beating with the extreme temps and done great. Compared to other strollers it is a bit heavy, but that is because of the solid construction. I am 5 foot and do just fine with it. This thing has gone through grass, sand, gravel, dirt, ice, snow, North Carolina heat, and Alaskan winters. Now, it isn't a jog-runner with those cool go anywhere wheels...but this thing can hold its own just fine. We have a Honda Odyssey mini van and it fits just fine in the "trunk" with all 3 rows up with room left over for groceries. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Plus, the car seat is awesome. It clicks in and out of the base to stroller in a flash. Easy to install, easy to clean and has a great safety record. We purchased a second snugride car seat and the quattro tour duo stroller when we had our twins (they are now 5 months old). Buy Graco Quattro Tour Travel System with SnugRide, Marlowe!

Graco SnugRide Adjustable Base - Tan

We went with the Graco Snugride because it received good safety ratings and fit our budget. Our newborn son fit nicely in it and seemed secure - the first few times. After the first couple of months I started to notice some definite drawbacks:
1) It is NOT particularly lightweight, and even though my son was a smaller baby, it still got really heavy really fast. After about 3mos. I refused to use it anymore. We put it in hubby's car and I put the convertible seat in mine.
2) The straps adjust from behind, and they are the kind that need to be threaded individually. So, if the season changes (or you just live in a variable region like we do) you'll find yourself fighting with it every time your child wears anything heavier than a onesie. THEN you have to re-thread again on the next warm (lighter clothes) day. And trust me - trying to adjust those things when you're in a hurry to be somewhere will frazzle your nerves in no time!
3) The handle was not very steady. What I mean is, these seats are pushed and pulled constantly, usually at a sideways angle in and out of the car or at your hip. I found that after just a few trips, the handle felt loose and would rock a little from side to side, and even back & forth slightly when supposedly locked in place.
4) Last thing, but definitely my biggest concern. The anchor strap slips! You don't notice it the first few times, and you probably won't ever notice it unless you ride in the back seat or test it occasionally. Because it was in my husband's car, we didn't notice it at first. Then I rode back there one day and found that the base was sliding like crazy - the BASE! The strap (it was the LATCH strap) had gradually gotten looser and looser, even though we used a towel to even out the seat (as recommended) and pulled the strap as tight as humanly possible. We fixed it, then found that several weeks later it was loose again!
I would accept that the loose strap thing was a fluke of this particular seat (since I've never heard anybody else complain of it), but taken as a whole we will NOT be using this seat again. Go with Britax or Chicco!Buy Graco SnugRide Adjustable Base - Tan!

Bugaboo Cameleon Adapter for Graco Car Seat

This is a super easy to use add-on for the Bugaboo Bee. They say you can't leave it on when you fold up the stroller, but we have done so with no problems. The stroller will only fold to about 95% of its capacity with the adaptor on, but that is plenty good enough to get it in and out of the trunk of a civic with no worries. Very easy to install and remove and it's very stable and sturdy feeling. Only draw back is the price! I guess if you are going to go with a bugaboo stroller, you have to pay the price for their accessories! Don't short yourself by not having this adaptor, it's the perfect car seat accessory for your stroller and was worth the high price we paid for it! Seat installs with one hand and it fits right the first time. No messing around to get the seat attached to it, just drop in, "click it" and you are ready to roll. Oh, it DOES NOT make the stroller top heavy as I've read some people talk about. It's perfectly safe and very stable feeling. My suggestion...get the Bugaboo Bee and GET THIS ADAPTOR! You won't be sorry! Buy Bugaboo Cameleon Adapter for Graco Car Seat!

Graco AirBooster Youth Car Seat in Storm

I like the booster so far. Though I don't sit on it, I imagine it is quite comfortable. My 3 year old loved moving to the big boy chair. He hadn't sat in it for more than 5 minutes and he had already christened it! If I had gotten a cloth seat of some sort it would have been a big mess. This was the easiest clean-up imaginable. I would recommend also getting a seat protector from Lion Heart. What went straight through the chair was captured by this protector and was so easy to clean up. So, it was nice to know that the chair already paid for itself in ease of operation and clean-up. Along with the seat protector, it saved my leather seats. I imagine it will be considerably less hot in the hot Texas sun as well. A good buy so far. We got two!Buy Graco AirBooster Youth Car Seat in Storm!

Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat

My daughter is petite for her age. At 3 years, she was 36 inches tall and weighed 25 lbs. She had been in a Britax Roundabout seat until she got too tall for it. After much research on a seat that would be safe enough for her low weight, but able to accomodate her height, we settled on this seat. We love it. The best feature by far is the fact that you can use the 5 point harness much longer due to the max height allowment. My best advice to those shopping for a seat in this class is to compare height maximums when using the 5 point harness. My daughter loved this seat from moment one. She feels like such a big girl in it. It is comfy and the cup holder is a nice perk. Fits great in my Honda Accord--which was a worry of mine. Several comparison seats had gigantic dimensions. My only complaint is the recline is so minimal that whenever she sleeps her head slumps forward. But, that's a small price to pay for quality and safety. I have reccommended this to numerous friends--many who were true blue Britax fans, and they have loved it also.Buy Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat!

Graco TurboBooster Car Seat - Hearts Delight

My 3 ½ year old was ready for a "big girl car seat," so my husband and I did our research. After reading everything we could find on the subject, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the GRACO TURBOBOOSTER CAR SEAT is not only one of the highest rated by Consumer Reports, it also is very reasonably priced! And to top it off, it is available in a wide range of colors, which allowed my wee one to pick exactly the car seat she wanted.

The GRACO TURBOBOOSTER CAR SEAT is actually two booster seats in one: a high-backed booster seat for kids three years old and at least 38 inches and 30 pounds, and a backless booster for kids 4 to 10 years old and at least 40 inches and 40 pounds. It is very easy to convert between the two modes, and the convertible feature adds to the over all value by extending the life of your purchase.

The GRACO TURBOBOOSTER CAR SEAT has many great safety features including a height adjustable head support that grows with your child, a seat belt guide that properly positions the car seat belt on your child's shoulder, and an EPS energy absorbing foam liner. The seat also has a number of convenience features such as padded, height adjustable armrests, hide away cup holders, two reclining positions, and a seat cover that is easily removed for machine washing.

The GRACO TURBOBOOSTER CAR SEAT assembles effortlessly and is a snap to install. Your car's seat belt locks the seat into place; there is very little movement once my daughter is properly strapped in. The seat is apparently very comfortable; my daughter falls asleep quite easily, and maintains an upright position. The padded head positioner, which looks like the "wings" on a wing chair, keeps her from slumping. Overall, if you follow the age, height, and weight guidelines, follow the installation instructions, and check the proper positioning and tightness of the seat belt EVERY TIME you buckle your child in, your big kid will be safe and comfortable.

Of course, in my daughter's eyes, the best part was getting to choose the color herself. She chose HEARTS DELIGHT - very pink and covered in hearts with crowns, princesses, and other fun, totally girly things. She loves it, and is very proud that she got to pick it out. Safe, comfy, and happy...what more could you ask for? Buy Graco TurboBooster Car Seat - Hearts Delight!

This makes my Graco car seat that much more functional. This is so much easier than dragging the huge travel system stroller. If you have a Graco car seat, you must own this!Buy Graco SnugRider Infant Car Seat Stroller Frame!

We just recieved our Graco SafeSeat in the Rittenhouse pattern. Just thought I'd add two specific comments directed toward those shopping on-line.

1. We bought from Amazon partially because of the really great price (it seems to vary every few days, so keep watching) and the free shipping. Supposedly it was going to take longer for the free shipping-- 3-5 days for order processing and 7-10 for shipping. I placed the order on the evening of 3/25 and it arrived 3/28. Now that's fast!!

2. If you are a first time parent you may not be aware that car seats have manufacture dates. It is virtually impossible to find out the manufacture date from customer service agents (I tried lots of different websites), as the phone operators have no acess to the acutal product that's being shipped. It is on the outside of the individual box or stamped on the underside of your carseat if you're looking in the store. Lots of horror stories out there of online purchased car seats that were manufactured 3 years or more prior. Usually its not too big a deal, as most are thought to be safe 5-6 years after their "manufacture date". But if you are specfically looking for a manufacture date to ensure it is compatible with your stroller system or plan to use it again for another child later.. it may be more important to you. The Graco Rittenhouse we bought on 3/25/09 was manufactured on 12/23/08. Yea! Good work amazon! We're happy with our online purchase.Buy Graco Safe Seat Infant Car Seat, Ionic!

I ordered this carseat for my baby when I was expecting because it just seemed the smart thing to do with babies coming into this world at 8+ lbs and 19"+ long! Well our little boy came into this world weighing 7.06 lbs and measuring 20" long! Most rear facing carseats only go up to 22 lbs and 22" long, so this was definitely a wise choice. He's only 13 days old and we have used the carseat on 3 occassions and so far so good! It's spacious enough so that he doesn't feel cramped or confined once buckled in. The downfall to that is that his head bobs a bit too much for me because the infant insert is still a little too big. We purchased an additional head support piece (not Graco) to resolve this issue. It works well... He was awake when he was placed in it the second time and he cried a bit but calmed down after he was all tucked in. The other times he was asleep and remained sleeping... The carrier is easy enough to remove from the base which is a huge plus. The colors are rich looking with a baby feel (the green), and can work for either boy or girl (I didn't know what I was having when I ordered it)...The straps are easy enough to adjust once you read the instructions. To date the carrier is not too heavy, but that may change once he puts on some pounds... Overall I love this carseat so far... If that changes I'll add to this later on.Buy Graco SnugRide 32 Infant Car Seat in Zurich!
